Terms & Conditions

Plain English: use Loon to stay on top of your calendar, pay us fairly for it, and don't do anything harmful. The full text below is the binding version.

Effective date: June 17, 2026

Agreement to these Terms

Loon ("Loon," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Chaitanya Nijhara, an individual sole proprietor. By downloading, installing, or using the Loon app or the website at loon.so (together, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms incorporate our Privacy Policy by reference.

Eligibility

You must be able to form a legally binding contract under the laws of your jurisdiction to use the Service. If you are purchasing a subscription you must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher). You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

The Service

Loon is a macOS 13+ desktop application that displays a live countdown to your next calendar event in the menu bar, enables one-click joining of video calls, surfaces meeting alerts and a focus/Pomodoro timer, and connects to Google Calendar on your Mac. The Service is intended for personal and business productivity use on hardware you own or are authorised to use.

Your account

To access paid features you create an account (email address and subscription status stored by our authentication provider, Supabase). You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all actions taken under your account. Notify us immediately at support@loon.so if you suspect unauthorised access. We are not liable for losses resulting from compromised credentials.

Licence & restrictions

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal licence to use the Loon app on macOS devices you own or control.

You agree not to:

All intellectual property rights in the app, website, and brand remain exclusively with us.

Subscriptions, billing & renewals

Loon is available on a subscription basis at $5 per month or $48 per year. Prices are shown in US dollars and may change; we will give you reasonable notice before any price change affects an active subscription.

Free trial. New users receive a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. The trial does not automatically convert to a paid subscription — you must actively subscribe.

Billing. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing you also accept Stripe's terms. We never receive or store your full card number; that data goes directly to Stripe.

Auto-renewal.Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You may cancel at any time from the Stripe billing portal in the app's settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — you retain access through that date.

Refunds. Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. However, we may, at our sole discretion, issue full, partial, or pro-rated refunds on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund, email support@loon.so with your account email and the reason for your request.

Taxes. Displayed prices may exclude applicable sales tax, VAT, or similar taxes. You are responsible for any such taxes imposed on your subscription.

Third-party services

Loon integrates with or depends on services operated by third parties, including Google (Google Calendar API and OAuth), Stripe (payment processing), Supabase (account authentication), Amplitude (anonymous usage analytics), and video-conferencing providers (Zoom, Google Meet, Webex). Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service.

Google Calendar API & your data

Loon's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Calendar data — events, attendees, agendas, and meeting links — is fetched directly from Google to your Mac and processed locally; it is never sent to our servers. Loon requests read access to your calendars and write access only when you respond to an invitation from within the app. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

By connecting a Google account you also agree to Google's Terms of Service and acknowledge that your use of Google's services is subject to Google's policies.

Apple & macOS platform

Loon is distributed directly — as a signed and notarized download from loon.so — and is notdistributed through the Apple App Store. Apple Inc. is not a party to these Terms, is not the provider of the Service, and bears no responsibility for Loon or its content. Apple's obligations (if any) regarding Loon are limited solely to its role in the notarisation and signing infrastructure. Your use of macOS remains governed by your separate agreement with Apple.

Updates

The app may auto-update via Sparkle. We may at any time modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or the Service as a whole, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Loon is a calendar-awareness and productivity aid. You remain solely responsible for attending your meetings and managing your schedule. We are not liable for any meeting, appointment, or commitment you miss, regardless of the reason.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR MISSED MEETINGS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) TEN US DOLLARS ($10).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property or privacy rights.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately and without notice if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your licence to use the app ends and you must delete it from your devices. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive termination.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date at the top of this page and, where practical, by in-app notice or email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally (see below) shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Foster City, California.

Informal resolution. Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at support@loon.so and give us 30 days to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
